Site Update: Adverts and Donations

Hello everyone!

You may have noticed that I’ve been running Google AdSense on the site to see if I can make a little pocket change to offset the low costs that keep the site online. After a few months, the site made on average 10p a month, and Google make it so you need £60 before you can cash out… I didn’t think it was worth having them on the site for the big payout in the 2070s so I’ve done away with the adverts.

Over the years, a few generous people have reached out asking if they could donate as a thank you for the site. While I’ve always been happy to cover the costs myself, I’ve now set up a donation page for those who would like to contribute.

To be clear—there’s absolutely no expectation to donate. The site currently costs around £30 a year to run (covering web hosting and the domain), so it’s not a major expense. But if you’d like to chip in, I’ve set up the donation page to allow small, one-off contributions starting from just $1. Every little bit is appreciated, but the site will remain online either way!

Thank you all for visiting and enjoying the site, and hopefully this year we will have some fresh music (and more live recordings!) from our favourite band.
